Kappa is  Southern Lights chef.

He is very experienced and passionate chef with years of practice in both western and Asian cuisine. He is equally comfortable in the kitchen and with customers. Kappa loves to think outside the box when preparing menus on the boat. He is very creative and loves to experiment with fusion cuisine.

Kappa worked many years in Taiwan in famous japanese restaurants learning the art of choosing ingredients and presentation.

Kappa speaks mandarin and english and will do anything to make your meals a unique gourmet experience.


Chef

Maya is Southern Lights Deckhand and chief stewardess.

She was born in the USA, raised in New Zealand, France and Taiwan.
She is a true citizen of the world perfectly tri-lingual in english, french and mother tongue mandarin. She understands very well the subtleties of western and Asian cultures. She is a very sociable person with a sense of humor.

Together with the rest of the crew of Southern Lights, she will do her best to provide guests with an unforgettable sailing adventure.

Maya is also a keen diver and a PADI dive master.


Deckhand

Thierry is the captain of Southern Lights. 

Born in France by the Mediterranean sea and having lived near the ocean in Taiwan, California, New Zealand, Thailand and now El Nido. 

He has been diving and sailing most of his life. Thierry is passionate about the art of sailing and loves to share his passion with his guests Formerly working in Silicon Valley as a micro processor and firmware engineer, he knows the limits of electronic equipment on a boat and makes sure his Tamaya sextant is never too far.

He is a MCA Master Of Yacht 200Gt Unlimited and a certified IYT, ISSA and IYMCS sailing instructor.

When not busy with sailing, Thierry tries to grow his own food at home (slowly), plays chess (badly), scuba dives and tries to understand Quantum Physics (help welcome).

Thierry speaks fluent english, french (his mother tongue) and conversational mandarin.
